Biomechanics of Movement and the Clinical Application of Pilates.
Who for: Qualified physiotherapists and Pilates Instructors
Length: 20–24 hours / 3 days
Learning objectives: An intensive course to equip you with the skills needed to assess, understand and treat altered movement mechanics and muscle imbalances.

This is an intensive course focusing on the biomechanical assessment of any client. If you can easily identify and understand why there are movement failures which often lead to pain and problems, these failures are very easy to correct resulting in improved movement and ultimately a happy, pain free client.

Following this course you will also have an in depth understanding of your own physical issues and will leave armed with the know-how of how to correct it.

Live case studies with real patients will form a part of this course. You will see for yourself how powerful well applied clinical Pilates can be. It’s more than theory, you will be able to use the material covered on Monday morning!

The Advanced Clinical Application of Pilates to Solve Common Pathologies and Injuries.
Who for: Qualified Physiotherapists and Pilates Instructors. Prior attendance on the biomechanics course is an advantage.
Length: 14 hours / 2 days
Learning objectives: You will gain a more in-depth understanding of common pathologies including disc problems, altered sacro-iliac mechanics, sciatica spontaneous onset knee injuries, impingements syndromes of the hip and shoulder, shoulder instability, scoliosis, cervical joint and disc issues, headaches and pregnancy.

You will also learn some specific mechanical tests to help with the more specific differential diagnosis of these conditions. Clinical reasoning and the clinical application of Pilates exercises to solve these injuries also feature highly in this module. Live case studies will be used during this module to fine tune your clinical reasoning skills.

Muscle Activation Technique and Its Application in Clinical Pilates.
Who for: Qualified Physiotherapists and other manual therapists. Pilates Instructors whom have completed the previous two courses can also attend.
Length: 14 hours / 2 days
Learning objectives: You will learn the basics of the technique and how to apply it in a Pilates setting, including class work.

This is a very “hands-on” course based on the increasingly popular manual therapy technique of muscle activation. This is an extremely powerful technique which produces immediate mind blowing results which, in turn, leads to improved movement mechanics and a reduction in pain.

Fisioplus Pilates CLASS Concepts.
Who for: Physiotherapists whom have attended at least one other FPP course
Length: 14 hours / 2 days
Learning objectives: To deepen your understanding of Clinical Pilates for specific pathologies and how to apply this knowledge in a group setting.

This course is primarily aimed as a follow up module for Physiotherapists whom have completed the 3 day Biomechanics and Clinical Pilates course. This course will allow you to deepen your understanding of the clinical application of Pilates for specific pathology groups including common low back problems, cervical and shoulder instabilities, pregnancy, neurological problems and clients who need to progress to a much higher level like athletes and dancers.

You will also learn the benefits of offering Fisioplus Pilates in a class setting both for the client and, of course, your business. You will learn how to plan, design, and teach Fisioplus Pilates classes.

This is a fun practical module which includes many more exercises than in the earlier courses including stretch, mobility and total body global movements as well as the key clinical exercises. A succinct pre-class assessment protocol will also be covered to help guide exercise prescription in a class setting.

This module can also be offered as an introductory workshop to the Fisioplus Pilates concepts (16hrs) for Physiotherapists wanting to gain an insight into the clinical application of Pilates for specific pathology groups.

Challenge, Facilitate and Diversify.
Who for: Physiotherapists and Qualified Pilates Instructors
Length: 14 hours / 2 days
Learning objectives: Learn to bridge ability gaps and add diversity to your clinical Pilates repertoire.

This workshop introduces small inexpensive equipment to the Fisioplus Pilates exercise repertoire. Swiss balls, magic circle, foam roller, soft balls and weighted balls can all be used to help you get the best from your client. Equipment can allow you to bridge ability gaps, add a fun stability challenge or simply fine tune or diversify your exercise repertoire. Practical workshops within this course also involve class design and teaching skills. This course is usually recorded for later reference due to sheer number of exercise variations. Clinical applications are continually discussed as is the case with all of the previous courses.

Runner’s Workshop. Specialist workshop for runners and those that work with them.
Who for: Runners and those who work with them to improve their performance.
Length: 8 hours / 1 day
Learning objectives: To improve clinical reasoning skills for therapists and pilates instructors. If you are a runner you will come away knowing how to solve any annoying niggles and potential problems you may have.

Fisioplus Pilates has created this special unique workshop which covers the following:

· Biomechanics needed to run well
· Common muscle imbalances that many runners have that often lead to injury and a poorer performance
· A repertoire of reliable specific exercises that can be used to improve these problems

Professionals that work with runners will be able to practice hands-on with runners during the workshop… it´s not just theory!

Places are limited for all Fisioplus Pilates courses to 15 participants to maintain the teaching quality and easy access to the presenter.
