Fisioplus Core Dynamics
Clinical screening and rehabilitation of non-optimal movement patterns.
Fisioplus is proud to present this new series of courses. Already established across Europe and well known for the Fisioplus Pilates course series, Fisioplus have designed a new series of CPD courses due to popular demand specifically for PERSONAL TRAINERS.
Fisioplus specializes in teaching how to EVALUATE and SCREEN clients with a wide variety of movement dysfunctions which can often lead to pain, injury and a poorer sporting performance. Personal trainers are in a privileged position in that they can work one to one with their clients aiming to maximise training potential and achieve specific goals. Non-optimal movement patterns will slow down this process. Any personal trainer worth their title can spot potential movement problems during a training session, but often the exact cause(s) and nature of the problem remain a mystery. If the cause is unknown, it is impossible to correct without promoting other compensation strategies and you guessed right, that will only promote more non-optimal movement patterns!
Learn how to break this vicious cycle. Your clients will be much happier. They will respect your ability to evaluate them on a deeper clinical level reducing their chances of injury, immediately improving any injuries they are carrying at the time of screening, and of course, improving their performance and training efficiency.
OK, so you will learn how to evaluate a problem. That is the biggest and most important step but your client won’t be completely satisfied unless you know what to do about it. You could of course just send them to a good Physiotherapist and continue training them as normal but as a Progressive Personal Trainer won’t be content with that. The Fisioplus Core dynamics course will also teach you where to start with rehabilitating non optimal movement patterns during training for all levels of client. Once the movement is optimal, you will also want to challenge your client so that they can maintain their improvement. You will learn a whole repertoire of challenging core dynamics exercises that you can use at basic, intermediate and advanced levels without any danger to your client.

Fisioplus Core Dynamics – Course outline
The course is split into two weekend modules. The first module focuses on the clinical evaluation process and rehabilitation of the lumbar spine, pelvis and lower limb. The second module concentrates on movement biomechanics and rehabilitation of the neck, upper back and upper limb.
Lower Limb module – Day 1
Clinical Screening and Evaluation
Subjective screening process
- Red Flags and cautions
- Aggravating and Easing factors and what this can mean clinically
Non optimal movement lecture – learn about classic muscle imbalances and their causes. Go back to basics re core dynamics and clinical relevance of altered core dynamics.
Objective Screening process:
- Sharpen your observation skills
- What am I looking for? And Why?
- Fisioplus Core dynamics screening tool:
- Validated objective tests that are used to identify non optimal movement patterns. Practical workshop. Find out what your non optimal movement patterns are and exactly HOW to test your clients.
-Core dynamics and alignment testing
- Recording the results
- Results are completely useless if they are not recorded correctly. Results also act as an objective baseline for every client. If you can show them their improvement in real terms they will be very impressed. It is not enough that a client tells you they feel stronger or that they move better. You MUST be able to measure this to defend your role as a Personal Trainer using real evidence.
Lower limb module – Day 2
You will by now be desperate to know how to correct these problems that we will have spent the whole previous day clearly and specifically identifying so we will get straight down to it – It’s all practical and hands on!
You will be taught a repertoire of Fisioplus Core Dynamics rehabilitation exercises and exactly HOW to apply them to the problems identified throughout day 1.
As you succeed in correcting non-optimal movement patterns you will need to know intermediate and advanced core dynamics exercises too.
You will definitely feel these!
During the morning you will start to get the hang of applying the correct exercise strategy to the appropriate non-optimal movement pattern.
In the afternoon, walked through by the Fisioplus presenter, YOU will clinically screen, identify non-optimal movement patterns, and rehabilitate A REAL CLIENT!!!
A local client with a classic low back problem and/or knee pain will be invited to model for the group. This can be a bit scary but afterwards you will know how use Fisioplus Core Dynamics with your clients on Monday morning… its not just theory and your detailed full colour manual wont just gather dust or be used to keep fire doors open!
Upper limb module – Day 3
The upper limb module is more complex but brings everything together. You will have had at least 6 weeks between modules to practice Fisioplus Core Dynamics with your clients. Any doubts will be cleared up throughout this weekend.
Upper limb movement dysfunctions and Biomechanics theory lecture – This is the nitty gritty brain drain part of the course. Most of this theory will be new for Personal Trainers, don’t worry all will become clear during the whole weekend of practical sessions to come.
- Subjective screening – BASIC diagnostic clues. These lead you to the appropriate objective tests.
- Objective screening – Fisioplus Core Dynamics testing guide. Once again you will learn immediately useful, quick, measurable tests that will guide you in identifying the causes of non-optimal movement patterns and biomechanics.
Upper limb module – Day 4
- Rehabilitation guidelines and Fisioplus exercises that can be used to correct the altered biomechanics.
- Again, YOU will get to assess a REAL CLIENT with a shoulder problem, come to a basic working diagnosis and teach appropriate rehabilitation exercises.
- Case Studies – Real cases that have been rehabilitated using the Fisioplus approach and how this can be applied to training clients.
- As a group, a progressive program will be designed with the specific problem in mind taking into account diagnosis, biomechanics, contraindications and application of the Fisioplus Core Dynamics approach to Personal Training.
