Clinical pilates workshop on Low Back Pain.

Know and understand the difference between Disc, Joint and Muscular problems from a movement perspective.

This course will allow you to direct your classes and individual sessions more specifically, changing your clients back pain outcomes from just “good, but all movement helps right” to “great, my back pain has gone and I’ve regained my movement confidence!

More and more people are turning to Pilates and other movement disciplines such as Yoga, and Functional training to help themselves with back pain. Even doctors will now often refer their patients to Pilates. Fantastic, it’s about time too! Research is continually showing that an exercise approach, like Pilates, to back pain has better outcomes than medical management and manual therapy in isolation. (Hayden et al. 2021 )

This is great news, but you need to know what to do exactly and, perhaps more importantly, the things to take care with. Simply avoiding painful movements or movements the client is scared of will leave you feeling frustrated and with less than satisfactory results. Join me for a 2 hour workshop designed with movement professionals in mind to learn exactly how to use movement questions,  tests and exercises to assess and help your clients with Low Back Pain.

This will be a 2 hour theory and practical workshop with real case studies and critical thinking tips to help you work out where to begin and when to progress with your clients.
